The CaneWeaver
Pressed Cane Webbing

Pressed Cane Webbing is pre-woven cane that can be installed in the types of seats designed for it. To determine if you have Handwoven Cane or Pressed Cane Webbing in your seat, take a close look at the edge of your seat. Hand-Woven Cane will be woven in and out of holes around the edge of your seat. Pressed Cane Webbing comes in a pre-woven sheet and is pressed into a groove around the edge of your seat and held in place by a reed spline which is installed into the groove.

Pressed Cane Webbing is typically done in the Traditional Weave as seen on the page about Hand-Woven Cane Seating and is available in various sizes of weave. However, there are three other weaves available in Pressed Cane Webbing seen below.

The Traditional Weave and the Close Wove Cane Webbing make an excellent seat, but the Radio Wove and the Modern Wove are better suited for decorative panels and seat backs.
